Top 100 of 1975

(Special thanks to Walt Bailey for the audio above).

Ed Gursky is heard here as 'Ed Kowalski'. Beginning with the station in 1971 doing overnights as 'Todd Reynolds', he had worked at crosstown competitor WEAM as 'Chuck O'Neil'. In March of 1972 he went over to RKO's WGMS which was a classical music AM/FM combo that was readying the AM for a Top 40 battle with WPGC. Public outcry from confused listeners who thought WGMS-FM was changing format prevented the AM from ever getting off the ground as planned. From there he went to WYRE in Annapolis but returned part-time at WPGC in November 1975 using 'Ed Kowalski'.

His saga doesn't end there however as he would make yet another appearance on the station after going to WWSW in Pittsburgh and WCBM in Baltimore. In the spring of 1978 he became the station alumnus who is believed to have worked at WPGC the most number of times (3 separate occasions with three different air names!), this time as 'Ed McNeal'.

Things to listen for:

- A Top 100 of 1975 Countdown promo by midday man, Music Director (and future WPGC morning man), Jim Elliott, and a listener 'Soundoff' by news guy, Bob Raleigh (Bill Miller) on high school cooking classes.
