Big Don O'Bryan graduated high school, got married, had a child and started working at WPGC all at the tender age of 18 in 1973! From part time fill-in he went to overnights before moving on to numerous stations in Baltimore & Washington including, WWDC, WEEL / Fairfax where he was Program Director in 1981, KIX-106, WASH and B104 in Baltimore where he did mornings with Brian Wilson as 'Brian & O'Brien' in the mid '80's. He also did TV weather in Baltimore.

Contesting at the time consisted of the 'Cash Kick Off' with $50 up for grabs, coinciding with the resumption of football in the fall. Contestants had to correctly predict the pre-determined outcome of what a fictious ball carrier would gain on the play. Voiced by Harv Moore impersonating Howard Cosell, the pre-recorded play-by-play had possible outcomes of 25, 50, 75, 100 or no yards at all.

Other ways to win took the form of WPGC's on-going bumpersticker campaign with the WPGC Money Girls, the WPGC Money Car and the recently introduced Money Plane flying over Landover, Herndon & high over RFK Stadium.
