Note: With the 09/26/64 issue, the Evening Star dropped WEEL as a reporting station. Unlike previous changes in the lineup of stations, WEEL was not dropped to make room for another station (as had been the case earlier such as when WRC was dropped in favor of WPGC, and WMAL was dropped in favor of WEAM, both in 1958). Instead, the number of reporting station fell from 10 on 09/19/64 to 9 on 09/26/64. WEEL would eventually return as a reporting station on 01/18/69 and remain as such through the last list published by the Washington Star on 05/11/74.

Chart Notes: After a one week absence following a staggering 37 consecutive week streak with at least one song in the Top Ten on at least one Washington area station, the Beatles re-emerge this week with previously released material on a couple of stations.

'Matchbox' from the 'Something New' album on Capitol reappears in the Top Ten at #9 at WAVA while 'And I Love Her' charts again in the Top Ten at #6 this week at WINX.

Lennon & McCartney's song writing credit with 'From A Window', the third consecutive hit written by them for Billy J. Kramer with the Dakotas, moves from #10 - #7 at WHMC.
