Chart Notes: The Beatles', 'A Hard Day's Night', falls from #1 - #2 at WPGC after spending a month at the top (and which ends the year at #7 on the WPGC Top 100 of 1964) while another track from the film's soundtrack, 'And I Love Her', remains at #5 this week. Meanwhile, Ringo's featured lead vocal on 'Matchbox', from the 'Something New' album on Capitol but not appearing on the United Artists film soundtrack jumps from #7 - #4.

Elsewhere around the DC dial, 'A Hard Day's Night' stays at #1 for the third consecutive week at WEAM, stays at #2 at WAVA, falls from #2 - #3 at WEEL, stays at #1 for the second consecutive week at WINX and drops one position from #1 - #2 at WWDC.

Yet another track from the soundtrack, 'If I Fell', falls out of the Top Ten from #1 last week at WEEL but debuts in the Top Ten at #5 at WHMC. This while 'Things We Said Today' from the soundtrack album but not included in the film itself debuts in the Top Ten at #5 at WEEL and 'And I Love Her' falls out of the Top Ten from #10 at WWDC and #9 at WHMC.

Milking as much as possible from Beatlemania, ATCO Record's release of 'Ain't She Sweet' with John on lead vocal from the Polygram sessions in 1960 with Tony Sheridan debuts in the Top Ten this week at #8 at WINX.

Finally, another Lennon & McCartney songwriting credit appears on the charts as 'I'll Keep You Satisfied' by Billy J. Kramer with the Dakotas surfaces in the Top Ten at #10 at WHMC.
