Listen To This WPGC Aircheck

The Request-O-Matic Lines are open....

Marv Brooks joined WPGC in late 1964 from WPAC (also on 1580!) in Patchogue, Long lsland, New York, initially as a jock, then later became a Newsguy and Production Director for the station. He continued to do a weekend airshift as well until 1968. Years later, he was the long time public address announcer for the Washington Bullets and Washington Capitals after his WPGC and WMOD days. He passed away of a massive heart attack on February 23, 1998.

Good Guy Marv is heard here on Easter Sunday, 1967. Listen for a holiday jingle which was probably intended for use at Christmas. The 'Weekend Spectacular', heard every weekend featured an oldie alternating with a current hit. Jingles are from a package called, 'Funtastic' by Spot Productions of Dallas.

Other things to listen for:

- A Four Seasons artist ID in which they sing their 'favorite number', 1580!

- The ubiquious jingle for Glen Echo Amusement Park as the season opened.

- 'Best Bet of the Week' stager by Harv Moore into Del Shannon's 'Led Along'.

- Program Director and afternoon man, Cousin Duffy's 'Monkees' contest.

- A 'School Salute' for Eugene Burrows Jr. HS, remedially read by a student.

- Good Guys sweatshirt promo voiced by Cousin Duffy & Harv Moore.

- A Go Magazine promo by 'The Morning Mayor, Harv Moore.
