Chart Notes: The Beatles', 'A Hard Day's Night', stays at #3 at WPGC this week (and which ends the year at #7 on the WPGC Top 100 of 1964) while Ringo's featured lead vocal on 'Matchbox', from the 'Something New' album on Capitol but not appearing on the United Artists film soundtrack falls out of the Top Ten from #4. Likewise, 'Things We Said Today', a song included on the soundtrack but not used in the film falls out of the Top Ten from #10, only to be replaced by another tune on the soundtrack but not used in the film, 'Anytime At All' which debuts in the Top Ten at #9.

Elsewhere around the DC dial, 'A Hard Day's Night' falls from #4 - #7 at WAVA, falls from #5 - #3 at WEEL, falls out of the Top Ten at WINX and remains at #2 at WWDC.

'And I Love Her' debuts in the Top Ten this week at #8 at WEAM, breaks in to the Top Ten at #10 at WAVA, falls out of the Top Ten from #6 at WEEL, debuts in the Top Ten at #6 at WINX and hits the top spot moving from #5 - #1 at WHMC.

Milking as much as possible from Beatlemania, ATCO Record's release of 'Ain't She Sweet' with John on lead vocal from the Polygram sessions in 1960 with Tony Sheridan moves from #9 - #6 at WEAM but falls out of the Top Ten from #6 at WINX.

Still another Lennon & McCartney songwriting credit appears on the charts as 'I'll Keep You Satisfied' by Billy J. Kramer with the Dakotas moves from #8 - #6 at WHMC.

With the 1964 elections not far off, a novelty song, 'Ringo For President' by the Young World Singers, falls out of the Top Ten after one week at WEEL from #10. The song did not chart nationally, nor did a cover of it by Australian, Rolf Harris of 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport' fame.
