Chart Notes: The Beatles', 'A Hard Day's Night', remains at #1 at WPGC for the fourth consecutive week (and which ends the year at #7 on the WPGC Top 100 of 1964) while another track from the film's soundtrack, 'Tell Me Why' falls out of the Top Ten only to be replaced at #5 by 'And I Love Her', also featured in the film. Nearly concurrent with the release of the soundtrack on United Artists, Capitol's release in the States of the 'Something New' album, largely consisting of left-over tracks dropped from previous American LP releases, features Ringo singing lead on 'Matchbox', which debuts in the Top Ten at #7 at WPGC this week.

Elsewhere around the DC dial, 'A Hard Day's Night' stays at #1 for the second consecutive week at WEAM, falls from #1 - #2 at both WAVA and WEEL, jumps from #5 - #1 at WINX, rises a notch from #2 - #1 at WWDC and falls from #1 out of the Top Ten at WHMC.

Yet another track from the soundtrack, 'If I Fell', debuts at #1 at WEEL while 'And I Love Her' debuts in the Top Ten at #10 at WWDC, debuts at #9 in the Top Ten at WHMC but falls out of the Top Ten at WAVA this week.

Finally, ATCO Record's release of 'Ain't She Sweet' with John on lead vocal from the Polygram sessions in 1960 with Tony Sheridan falls out of the Top Ten this week on WHMC.
