Note: The WPGC playlist for the previous week, May 9th, 1964 was not published by the Star due to a printers strike. Hence, chart positions for that week are not available. Song movement discussed below is based on the most recently published list as of May 2nd, 1964.

Chart Notes: 'Love Me Do' (which would go on to be the #13 song of the year on the WPGC Top 100 of 1964) and 'P.S. I Love You' which two weeks earlier clinched the #1 and #2 positions respectively at WPGC both drop a notch to the #2 & #3 positions this week.

Elsewhere on the dial, 'Can't Buy Me Love' still clings to #1 at WEAM and lingers in the Top Ten at #10 on Milt Grant's Network, dropping from #3 two week earlier, moves up five notches from two weeks earlier from #7 - #2 at WINX, remains at #4 at WWDC and drops three from two weeks ago from #7 - #10 at WHMC.

'Do You Want To Know A Secret' loses only a point in the last two weeks at WEAM from #3 - #4, the same position as at Milt Grant's Network where it remains in that spot from two weeks ago, falls a notch from two weeks ago from #9 - #10 at WINX, falls out of the Top Ten from #9 two weeks ago at WWDC and drops two from #2 two weeks ago to #4 this week at WHMC.

'Love Me Do' which did not appear in the Top Ten at WEAM two weeks ago is now at #6 this week, holds on to the #1 spot at Milt Grant's Network where it was #1 two weeks ago, takes the #2 spot at WEEL where it too was #2 two weeks ago, drops from #8 two weeks ago to #9 this week at WINX, sticks to the top spot at #1 at WWDC where it also was #1 two weeks ago, and lands at #8 at WHMC where it did not appear in the Top Ten two weeks ago.

'P.S. I Love You' makes it up to #6 at Milt Grant's Network where it did not appear in the Top Ten two weeks ago, hangs on the the #3 slot at WEEL, the same spot it resided in two weeks ago, also takes the #3 position at WINX where it did not appear in the Top Ten two weeks ago, and rises six from two weeks ago from #9 - #3 at WHMC.

Meanwhile tunes given away by Lennon & McCartney continue to do well as Peter & Gordon's, 'A World Without Love' moves up from two weeks ago from #6 - #3 at Milt Grant's Network, stays at #1 at WEEL, debuts in the Top Ten at #4 at WINX, debuts in the Top Ten at #5 at WWDC, moves from 'Predicted Hit' status two weeks earlier to #5 at WHMC, rises from #7 two weeks ago to #6 this week at WPGC, while 'Bad To Me' debuts in the Top Ten at #7 for Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas at WEEL.
