Note: Effective with the 02/28/64 issue, WPGC and WWDC traded columns on the 'Area Disc Jockeys Pick Top Ten Records' in the Evening Star chart with WWDC now fifth from the left and WPGC ninth. This layout would remain intact throughout the decade.

Chart Notes: The onslaught of the Fab Four knows no boundaries as yet another Beatles' song enters the WPGC Top Ten with 'Twist And Shout' taking the #9 spot while slots #1 - #5 remain rock solid with 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', 'She Loves You', 'Please, Please Me', (those three songs would go on to end the year as the #1, #2 & #4 songs on the WPGC Top 100 of 1964), 'All My Lovin' and 'Till There Was You'.

Elsewhere around the dial, 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' keeps its grasp on the #1 position at WEAM and WWDC, falls to #2 on Milt Grant's Network where it's replaced at the top with 'Please Please Me', falls to #3 at WEEL and falls to #5 at WDON.

'She Loves You', stays at #2 at WEAM and WWDC, falls to #3 on Milt Grant's Network and unbelievably, drops out of the Top Ten at WDON which instead features yet another novelty song about the Beatles as its 'Predicted Hit' with the Four Preps', 'A Letter To The Beatles'. 'Please Please Me' also takes the #10 spot at WINX.

Of all the major Top 40 stations in the DC Metro area, WDON / Wheaton consistently lagged behind the times with respect to the sheer social phenomenon that was Beatlemania. That may explain why the station would lose its reporting status with the Evening Star the following week and be replaced by WHMC / Gaithersburg.

As if Beatlemania itself wasn't enough for American acts to contend with, other British Invasion acts score hits this week in the Top Ten with the Dave Clark Five's, 'Glad All Over' at #7 at WEEL, the Searchers at #8 with 'Needles & Pins' at WEEL and the Swinging Blue Jeans', 'Hippy Hippy Shake' as the 'Predicted Hit' at WPGC.
